Board members will be on-hand to discuss the new Write Charleston! programs which include a Reading Series and a Writing Workshops program. Light refreshments will be served.
HELP SPREAD THE WORD!!
May 6 is Lowcountry Arts Day and LILA will be accepting donations on May 6 (12:01am to 11:59pm) via the Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts, in partnership with the Coastal Community Foundation, who will facilitate Lowcountry Arts Day.
We are seeking funding for our new Poetry Prison-Writing program and want to expand and continue our poets-in-the-schools workshops. As we continue to grow and expand our efforts, in many literary endeavors, we are also seeking non-profit status and searching for an Executive Director.
Donors will be able to access an online giving portal through our website or directly via www.lowcountrygivingday.org. LILA will receive 100% of the donation given towards its future endeavors on this one day, May 6, if made via Credit or Debit card. By making your donation through the Charleston Regional Alliance for the Arts (our fiscal agent), your gift is fully tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Attendees at the LILA Day of Giving Reception and New Members joining on May 6 will be entered into a drawing for a Free Annual Membership or One Free Writing Workshop.
All funds donated will be supplemented by the $110,000 gift provided by the generosity of anonymous donors. The Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina will handle the online giving platform and administration. For donations to be counted toward a portion of incentive funds, the donation must be at least $25, and please indicate that your gift is for LILA.

Writing is a solitary activity but getting feedback for works-in-progress is essential to every writer’s career. One of the many ways in which LILA serves the Lowcountry literary community is by coordinating a network of writers’ groups. Beginning this summer (2014), LILA-sponsored writing groups will meet once a month at Circular Congregational Church. Check out our list below, find your genre, and then, email email@example.com to be placed on our email list for notices about upcoming dates and times.
